Aberdeen's Second Goal.
A fierce Motherwell attack was beaten off, and Aberdeen again assumed the aggressive. After several corner kicks had been cleared, Dickie increased the Aberdeen lead by scoring a good goal from McDermid's pass, and the home team retired at the interval with a lead of two goals. On the resumption Aberdeen soon went further ahead, Armstrong heading through a cross from Warnock.Motherwell Rally.
Following this, play quietened down somewhat, Aberdeen apparently being content with their lead. A different aspect came, however, when Whyte scored twice for the visitors in quick succession. First he charged Cumming' over the line when the home keeper was in possession of the ball, and then he headed through a cross from Ogilvie. This livened up matters and the last quarter hour's play was fiercely contested. Both goals ran narrow escapes, but no further scoring took place.Source: Press & Journal, 26th September 1932
