Three Grand Goals

Celtic A Preserve Unbeaten Certificate.

Celtic "A" preserved their Alliance League unbeaten certificate by smart win over Aberdeen "A' at Pittodrie.

The visitors were a clever combination and deserved their victory. Aberdeen "A" had much, if not more, of the game territorially, but their forwards simply could not improve on their clever outfield work. True, the home forwards had hard luck on occasions, but generally they played too close football and put too much work on the ball.
Against a resolute pair of backs, and a goalkeeper who brought off countless marvellous saves, the home tactics were unavailing. By comparison the Parkhead forwards showed danger in every move. They moved with rare precision and understanding, and the three goals scored were all grand efforts.
Buchan drove home the first early in the first half. Turning round with this slender lead it looked as if Celts would crumple up under the sustained home attack, but this they refused to do, and in two lightning raids, one of them close on time, Dunn and O'Donnell scored with unsaveable shots.
Aberdeen's best were Gavin, centre-half, and Conwell and Adam, forward. Foley, in goal: Morrison, left back; McStay, centre-half, and McKennan, Dunn and O'Donnell, forward, shone consistently in well-balanced Celtic side.
