Young Dons Out Of Luck

Spirited Play at Tynecastle Worth Point.

Aberdeen "A" were rather unfortunate not take a point from their Alliance League fixture with Hearts reserves at Tynecastle, as for most of the game they had equal share of the play.

Play was fast and exciting in the first half, and both keepers were in action. After a long spell of attack, during which Westland had some clever saves, McLeod put Hearts ahead, but in a spirited Aberdeen rally J. Westland levelled matters.
For a time the Pittodrie team were on top, and Waugh was frequently in action, but before the interval Hearts came again, and D. Westland had some brilliant saves. Munro gave Hearts the lead in the second half from a penalty kick, but again J. Westland levelled the scores. The homesters had the better of matters after this, and Westland's charge was continually in danger, but the 'keeper was in good form, and defied all attempts to score until near the end, when Anderson notched the deciding goal for the home team.
Hearts were well served by Waugh, Harvey, Anderson and McLeod: while Aberdeen "A's" best were D. Westland, Gavin, Conwell, and J. Westland.
