Defeat Beith at Their Second Attempt.
NO FLUKE ABOUT VICTORY.
Aberdeen "A" accomplished at Beith what they had failed to do at Pittodrie earlier in the season. They took full points from the "Chairmakers" in an Alliance League game by the odd goal in five. There was no fluke about the Young Dons' victory. They were the better team throughout, Although they got an early shock when the homesters scored through Clark in two minutes. For the rest of the first half it was practically all Aberdeen, and the Beith defence was sorely pressed. On the Lead.
Donald, playing a centre forward, notched the equaliser, and J. Westland gave the visitors the lead. Beith threatened danger on the restart, but the Young Dons gradually settled down, and after twenty minutes Donald increased the lead. Beith tried hard towards the close, but were unsuccessful until a few minutes from the final whistle. Up to this point the Aberdeen defence had stood firm, but a penalty was conceded, and Narrowmore scored from the spot. Ritchie, Gavin, Donald, and Conwell were best for the visitors, while for Beith, Steele, Narrowmore, Clark, and Miller showed to advantage .Source: Press & Journal, 25th March 1935
