Cooper Outstanding
Aberdeen "A" were sound in defence. Cooper was outstanding at back, and McKenzie and Merchant played well in the half line. Wallbanks and Spalding were an enterprising pair of attackers. Barrie brought off many fine saves for Arbroath, and Hamill and McGinley were a hard-working pair of half-backs. Murray was a clever and dangerous inside-right.Source: Press & Journal, 19th September 1946
