THE Aberdeen team wore late arriving and the game did not start until nearly eight o'clock.
The Accies were a goal up in two minutes, Irvine scoring after clever play by Fearn. The Accies continued to be the more elusive company, and Newman, in the Aberdeen goal, had many clever saves to his credit.
On one occasion, however, the Academicals' goal had narrow escape, the ball striking the crossbar and rebounding to the centre's feet, but Colman put the rebound past.
Following this the Academicals went further ahead. Morrison scoring a clever goal after brilliant work on the right.
Immediately after the resumption Vine lobbed a high ball into the Hamilton goalmouth and the Hamilton 'keeper allowed it to drop out of his hands into the net. Aberdeen were now exerting pressure, and Botha and Jeffrey went close with good efforts. Another mix-up in the Hamilton goalmouth saw Colman net the equaliser.
Soon after Jeffrey gave the visitors the lead with an unsaveable shot.
Airlie scored a brilliant equaliser from an Irvine cross. Accies were now shaping better, and Morrison added another goal following a corner on the right.
Hume netted the equaliser for the Young Dons in the closing stages.
