The Ibrox colts, who won 5-1 at Pittodrie, gave the Young Dons an object lesson in taking chances. Territorially Aberdeen A had the lion's share of the play, but they seldon looked like scoring, and apart from "Newman" at centre they caused the visiting defecnce little trouble.
Rangers, on the other hand, looked dangerous every time they made for goal, and with Watkins and Little pushing through tempt-ng balls, the inside men had plenty scope. In between first and last-minute goals by Arnison, Grant scored a first half hat-trick. The home team's only goal was netted by "Newman."
All over, it was a disappointing Aberdeen team. Only Cooper, McLaughlin and "Newman" compared with their opposite numbers on the Ibrox side. In the visiting team Young showed that he had made a good recovery from his ankle injury, while other stalwarts were Lindsay, Watkins, Little, McPherson and Grant.
