Aberdeen "B" clinched the Aberdeenshire League title with an easy win over the students at Pittodrie Park last night. In the first half University revealed plenty fighting spirit, and the Aberdeen reserves looked likely to have a hard struggle for the four points at stake.
When McDonald, University's best forward, neutralised Preston's first-half score with a good goal eighteen minutes after halftime, the students' chances looked brighter.
Then came a complete transformation, and within three minutes Callander had given the Pittodrie team a two-goal lead.
Preston made it four with a fierce shot from close range, and near the end a speculative lob by Buchan finished in the net.
In the Aberdeen side Cowie, Dunlop, Buchan, and Smith were seen to most advantage. The University's best men were Milner, Ellis. Morrison, and McDonald.
