Third LANARK "A" failed by one goal to reverse the result of thei previous Reserve League Cup game with Aberdeen "A," but a 7-1 victory at Cathkin Park was no more than the Young Warriors deserved. They had a lively forward line, and the Aberdeen defence was hard pushed in the second half. McKenzie was disappointing at centre half for the visiting side, in which Curran, Massie and Anderson did best. The goalkeeper had many great saves and also stopped a penalty taken by Staroscik.
Compared with the Third Lanark attack, Aberdeen's forwards lacked punch, with Kelly paticularly disappointing in the middle. Millar got their only goal.
McCulloch, an energetic leader, got two goals for Third Lanark before half-time and Bogan made it three. In the second period McCulloch, Cameron, Staroscik and Chiristie all scored, and even when Bogan went off injured the home team was well on top.
