Yorston And Smith Baffle Thirds

ABERDEEN "A" were worthy 2-1 winners of a Reserve League game against Third Lanark "A." They won mainly because of their good ball-control and slick first-time passing.

Yorston and Smith repeatedly switched positions at speed, and Thirds' defence never quite fathomed this move.
The highlight of the game was the opening goal, scored in three minutes, and was a direct result of this unorthodox move. "Newman" beat Cameron, and placed his cross towards Petrie's left-hand post.
Smith ran to the right and headed the ball across to Yorston, who in turn headed past the helpless keeper.
Curran mishandled a pass back by Roy when Scott got Thirds' goal, but was positively brilliant later, especially in the second half.
Thomson was a dominating centre half, tackling soundly and distributing intelligently. He was ably supported by Merchant and Finlay.
