THE Celtic "A" - Aberdeen "A" game was a thriller right to the end, and a 1-1 draw was in keeping with the play.
For the first thirty-five minutes it was all Aberdeen, with the Celtic defence floundering.
Aberdeen's star in the first half was Pearson, who could beat man after man with ease, and his crosses were a joy. In the second half Celts made sure he saw little of the ball.
Kiddie got Aberdeen's goal in the first half. Receiving the ball from the centre, he made no mistake from close in.
On play they should have had quite a substantial lead, but Beaton was blotted out by Tonner, who usually got to the ball first.
In the second half Boden and Dowdells switched places and this made a difference. Celts showed a vast improvement in their play, and for quite a time the Dons' defence had many narrow escapes, but Curran was confident and safe.
Yet, towards the end Aberdeen almost stole the points when McNeill went right through on his own, but his parting shot just skimmed the bar with Hunter beaten.
