This has to go down as one of Aberdeen's greatest Scottish Cup results, not least because it is their first ever victory over the Glasgow team in the competition. It doesn't matter that Rangers were a side in turmoil, struggling in the League; the Dons were a side on the rise and had already overcome Hibs and Hearts on the way to this semi-final but Rangers had not faced top division opposition until today. Heroic Joe O'Neil has made an incredible return to the team only three weeks after suffering a depressed fracture of the skull. He celebrates by scoring a hat-trick, the second goal coming from a brave header. Not only that but he earns a penalty kick for Jack Allister late in the match whilst Graham Leggat and Paddy Buckley scored the others.
