The Dons went to Stirling hoping to win. They felt they should succeed but were prepared to have to withstand a battering from a side with nothing to lose. In fact their journey was unexpectedly easy. Albion won the toss, elected to play uphill, and never recovered from the "one-two punch" given by the Dons early in the game. Even allowing for the weak opposition we must give the Dons full credit for showing first class teamwork and swift, exhilerating football. Dons supporters were there from East and West cheering on their favourites.
