Although Love Street has often been a happy hunting ground for the Dons, it has not been for lack of fight shown by St. Mirren, and Aberdeen knew that if they were to do well last Saturday they would have to fight all the way. The Dons' luck held, for there is no doubt that on a number of occasions we were somewhat fortunate not to lose a goal. On the other hand St. Mirren would admit that they were equally fortunate and it would be fair to state that over the game the Dons were the more purposeful side and deserved the points. Their goals came as the result of two first class combined efforts. Since the opening of the season, the Paisley team have been badly barracked by a section of their so-called supporters, but against the Dons the "Buddies" could not complain of lack of the right kind of support. Their followers tried to rally them time and again but the Dons held firm, showing a coolness in defence that was too much for an enthusiastic but methodless forward line opposed to them.
