After a goal-less first period, the deadlock was broken in 52 minutes when Ross O'Donoghue was played in by Laurent D'Jaffo to finish crisply from 10 yards.
Aberdeen doubled their advantage three minutes later courtesy of a wonderful goal from French substitute Nicolas Fabiano. The former PSG youngster beat three players before scoring spectacularly with his left foot to make a big impression on watching boss Steve Paterson.
Boss Steve Paterson was a happy man at the final whistle. "The team showed a great attitude and created some good chances. Nicolas's goal was something special and it was good for Leigh to hit the back of the net. Eric Deloumeaux and Michael Hart both came through the game fine so they add to the options I'll have available for Sunday."
