Aberdeen 2 - 2 Dundee

Aberdeen got the game underway in torrential rain, but Dundee created the first chance when Novo was released on the left and fired a decent effort wide of Preece's right hand post. The conditions were proving to be tricky and the ball was getting held up in the sodden pitch giving the players additional problems. Novo almost capitalised on such a situation in the third minute. Fortunately Rutkiewicz was on hand to clear the danger.

The Dons had a penalty claim turned down in the 5th minute when Booth went down under a Hutchinson challenge. McCurry waved play on and three minutes later Alexander Diamond was booked for a challenge on Hernandez. Unfortunately McCurry failed to take the horrendous conditions into this decision. Players were struggling with the slippery surface and Preece had to look sharp in the 14th minute to deny Novo. A minute later Foster was one-on-one with Speroni but the keeper spread himself well to block the effort.

Dundee showed they were still a threat when a well worked move in the 26th minute ended with Mackay firing over the bar. In the 34th minute Clark swung in a dangerous cross that deceived Speroni. Unfortunately it also eluded the Dons attack and the ball was cleared. Novo almost capitalised on the conditions again in the 36th minute when the ball looked to be running harmlessly out of play it suddenly held up in the heavy pitch. The Dundee man beat Anderson and Preece was forced to turn the ball round the post .

With four minutes of the half remaining Diamond almost caught out Speroni with a speculative lob from the halfway line. Speroni scurried back to his line to prevent the goal but he could do nothing two minutes later when Anderson headed home a wicked free kick from Morrison. As the Dons celebrated Diamond was replaced by Sheerin and seconds later Dundee drew level after a free kick was floated in and Hutchison poked the ball into the net.

The game could have went either way at this stage and the visitors were dangerous when they went forward. Sancho took a tumble in the Aberdeen box in the 71st minute and ended up with a yellow card for his troubles. With 14 minutes remaining Zdrilic replaced Leigh Hinds as the Dons looked for a winner. Sheerin went close in the 77th minute when a 25-yard shot scraped past Speroni's post. Two minutes later the keeper collected a low Zdrilic shot.

Tosh should have grabbed a winner in the 83rd minute when he latched on to the ball inside the Dundee area, but once more Speroni blocked the effort. Then with two minutes remaining Zdrilic went close when his shot was deflected wide with Speroni scurrying across his line. Dundee then won a couple of corners deep into injury time but the Dons defence held firm to make it four SPL games in a row unbeaten.
