After the break the Dons took control of the game. Darren Mackie had a good chance to score after fine approach work by Leigh Hinds but he shot wide. The striker though made amends shortly afterwards when he set up the winning goal. Mackie played a great through ball to substitute Richard Foster. The young striker beat the last defender and coolly finished when he was one on one with the goalkeeper.
Aberdeen had a number of chances to add to their lead but the score line finished 2:1. Coach Neil cooper was a happy man after the game. "The boys thoroughly deserved their win as they all worked really hard. It was a solid performance with a lot of positives coming from it. It was especially pleasing to get both Chris Clark and Kevin Rutkiewicz back playing again. Both players did really well and it was good for them to get 90 minutes under their belts."
