Goodman Strike Halts Unbeaten Run

Aberdeen slumped to their first defeat in ten games, going down 1-0 to Motherwell at Fir Park. The first chance of the match fell to Spencer, Harvey set him up but Spencer didn't get full power behind his shot.
A long ball through found Don Goodman one on one with Jim Leighton, but the veteran striker's shot failed to hit the target.

The Dons first real chance fell to Arild stavrum, after Winters and Zerouali had combined well to set up the club's top-scorer, who failed to score. Motherwell looked to have scored when Harvey found the net, but the goal was disallowed after the referee and the assistant ruled it as offside.

A good ball out to the left from Valakari found Nevin, he passed to McMillan who crossed for Don Goodman to make it 1-0 to the home side after 53 minutes. A Lee McCulloch strike was denied by the woodwork, after the power beat keeper Jim Leighton. The Dons piled on the pressure late on to try and rescue the game, and Arild Stavrum found himself in space to head the ball goalwards, but it ended in the arms of Andy Goram.
