In the second half Aberdeen were much the better team and deservedly re-established their two goal lead when John Stewart grabbed his second. The young forward could easily have had a hat-trick but missed a number of subsequent chances.
Afterwards Neil Cooper spoke to Redweb, "It was a really good win as Hearts always have a strong side at this level. They started off the better team, which was to be expected as we had a very young side playing. But we came more and more into the game and scored some great goals. It was really encouraging to see how the experienced players like Hutton, Buckley and Diamond helped the younger lads in the team. The performance certainly bodes well for the rest the season."
