Aberdeen competed in a three team mini tournament this afternoon playing two mini matches of 45 minutes as preparations for the new season continued. The Dons didn't get off to the best of starts as traffic delayed their arrival at the venue forcing their opening tie against Dovo to be delayed by 15 minutes.
The late arrival seemed to affect the Dons and they took a while to get into their rhythm. Careless play littered the opening spell and the Dons went behind after six minutes when Muirhead was caught out at left back. The finish leaving Ryan Esson with no chance. Aberdeen struggled to get into the match and it wasn't until the last 15 minutes that they started to dominate play. Craig replaced Muirhead and was unlucky not to continue his scoring streak when he hit the woodwork late in the game.
