The young Dons got off to the worst possible start when they fell behind after only 4 minutes. The home side took the lead from the penalty spot. However Aberdeen mounted an incredible recovery as they gave the Jags a real going over for the remainder of the first half.
Aberdeen equalised when the hugely impressive Andrew Bagshaw played the ball to the near post where John Stewart continued doing what he has done since arriving at Pittodrie - putting the ball into the net.
Stewart returned the compliment to give the Dons the lead. His shot hit the post but Bagshaw was on hand to fire the rebound home. A third was added when Richard Foster hit a dipping volley that was only parried by the Partick keeper and Bagshaw was on hand to grab his second.
Just as the half time interval was approaching Aberdeen made it four. Stewart and Bagshaw combined again, this time to put Stephen Tarditi through on goal. The tall striker took his chance well as he lifted the ball over the keeper. The goal finished off a tremendous first half performance from the youngsters in red.
The second half was an all-together quieter affair and although the young Dons played some good football they were unable to add to the scoring.
After the game Neil Cooper spoke with Redweb and was understandably delighted with the win. "The boys showed a lot of good character to come back so well after conceding such an early goal. We played a lot of good football and scored some really good goals. All our forward players deserve credit as they were all very impressive tonight. We have now won 4 out of our first 5 games so it has been a very encouraging start to the season"
