forres too strong for young dons
A young Dons side were beaten 6-3 this afternoon by an experienced Forres Mechanics team. Aberdeen lost two goals in the first fifteen minutes but fought back to level the score with goals from Leigh HINDS and Paul SHEERIN. However the Highland league side restored their lead just before half-time to go into the break 3-2 up.
Forres scored again 20 minutes into the second half but Aberdeen again came back when BRUCE grabbed a goal following a mistake by the Forres' keeper. Unfortunately a late come back was not on the cards for the Dons and Forres went on to score another two goals to finish the game 6-3.
Neil Cooper spoke to RedWeb after the game: "Forres were a far stronger team but it was good experience for a very young team. We lacked experience at the back but overall I thought the young boys played well."
