A young under 19 side were held to a 1-1 draw at Balgownie this afternoon, as both teams had to contend with the difficult windy conditions. Livingston took the lead through Murray Davidson in the 10th minute, following clever work by the forward and a mix up in the Aberdeen defence. The Dons had very few chances in the first half but Chris Maguire did hit the bar in the 41st minute with a shot from outside the box. Livingston had a chance to extend their lead but the ball hit the post and landed in keeper Blanchard's hands.
The second half started more brightly for Aberdeen and they drew level in the 55th minute. Ashley McInnes did well to set up Brian Neill whose initial shot was saved by the Livi 'keeper. The rebound came out to Thomson who linked up with Macaulay before crossing for NEILL, who finished neatly into the Livi Net.
Neil Cooper spoke to Redweb after the match
"Livingston are a strong side as they beat Rangers last week. I'm pleased with the way they played in the second half and showed a lot of character after being the lesser team in the first half. I thought Chris Maguire played well, it was a young team out there and Chris came in showed that age doesn't matter."
