In the second half the Dons had the ball in the net when Macaulay scored but the referee chalked the goal off and further controversy ensued when Dunfermline took the lead in the 81st minute.

Blanchard was adjudged to have picked up a pass back despite his protestations that a Pars player was last to touch the ball.
