Despite dominating the opening exchanges the visitors went ahead in the 8th minute with a goal from Flannigan. The Dons levelled in the 33rd minute when Considine, who scored earlier in the week, fired home from close range after Kilmarnock failed to clear a Bagshaw corner. The Dons then lost a poor second a minute after the interval when Cox capitalised on some bad defending. Worse was to follow in the 62nd minute when Killie extended their lead with a great finish from Coyne.
After the match Redweb spoke to Neil Cooper. "It was disappointing to go 3-1 behind but if you give away easy goals like we did today then you expect to get punished. Credit to them though as I thought the lads looked a bit heavy legged after Tuesday night so they showed great character to come back and their attitude was first class. We keep saying to them they have to work and concentrate for the 90 minutes and they showed that today and got their rewards.
"I was pleased personally for Kieran who got two goals today as he was very unfortunate to be sent off on Tuesday night. He got our second goal, which he took well after fine play by Shields and that got us back into the game. He also showed great confidence when taking the penalty."
