Ten Men Dons call on Reserves

Aberdeen opened up their reserve league account with a battling draw at Links Park. The Dons grabbed the lead in the 17th minute after they were awarded a penalty when Rangers were penalised for a shirt pulling on Derek Adams. John Stewart stepped up and fired the ball past the keeper. Rangers levelled in the 28th minute when McCormack beat Esson with a well-placed free kick from 20 yards out.

The Dons were dealt a severe blow in the 42nd minute when Andrew Considine was dismissed after collecting a very soft yellow card. Having been cautioned earlier in the half the young defender had to walk. The Dons were punished 10 minutes after the interval when McCormack grabbed a second after he turned O'Leary and fired past Esson.

The Dons were not to be denied however and they dug in and were rewarded with an equaliser in the 73rd minute when Ricky Foster headed home a Donald cross for a deserved share of the spoils.
