Comeback keeper David Preece came through the ninety minutes unscathed as goals from each of the Paatelainen brothers failed to prevent the Dons second string from going down narrowly at Rugby Park.

Aberdeen took the lead in the 16th minute when John Bruce found Mikko PAATELAINEN who fired an excellent twenty yard shot into the corner of the net. Three minutes later, the home side were level when one time Dons target Gary WALES took advantage of sloppy defending to nip between Preece and Richard Foster for the equaliser.

Kille took the lead in 58 minutes after substitute Ryan O'Leary gave away a free kick on the edge of the box and Craig DARGO took full advantage, his deflected strike giving Preece no chance.

Neil Cooper's side levelled for a second time in 73 minutes when Markus PAATELAINEN was brought down inside the box. The young Finn took the kick himself, sending the keeper the wrong way. With seven minutes remaining, Killie grabbed the winner when DARGO was allowed a free header at the near post.

Manager Cooper felt a draw might have been a fairer outcome. "I felt we did enough to take a point but if you make mistakes at the back you're going to get punished."
