Reserves sink Hibees with late strike

Second half goals from Scott Morrison and John Stewart gave the young Dons an excellent victory over Hibs on a fiery Links Park pitch. Despite dominating the opening period, Aberdeen failed to turn their pressure into goals with Stewart and Willie John Kiely both coming close after good work from Richard Foster.

Ten minutes into the second half, the Dons finally went in front with a fabulous free kick from MORRISON that completely deceived the Hi-bees rearguard. Foster then hit the post after good work from Kiely with Gary Dempsey?s follow-up effort being blocked. The Dons looked to have paid the penalty for scorning chances when the visitors levelled in 68 minutes, the impressive Sam MORROW firing home after Jamie Winter had lost possession.

With eight minute remaining Aberdeen grabbed the winner when STEWART knocked the ball home as the Hibs defence claimed for offside against Kiely.
