comfortable dons victory

Jimmy Calderwood, playing against the side he finished his career with, selected a team that included his son. Scott was given permission by his club to play and he partnered Jamie Winter in the centre of defence. Aberdeen started with a 4-3-3 formation. Kyle Macaulay playing on the right hand side of midfield.

The Dons took the lead on 21 minutes. A cross was headed on by Derek Adams and John Stewart was on hand to head home the opener.

Andrew Considine, who has been one of the few success stories of the Dutch tour got the second on the half hour mark. A short corner was taken by Jamie Winter to Adams. Winter received the ball back and clipped the ball in. Considine scored with a good header.

At half time Noel Mendy replaced Adams. Calderwood changed to a 4-4-2 formation with Mendy playing up from with Stewart.

Stewart then got his second of the afternoon on 51 minutes. A Muirhead throw in was laid off by Dempsey to Stewart and the striker finished well.

55 minutes in it was four. Richard Foster scoring a fine solo effort. He had a good run down the right, cut inside a defender and beat the keeper from a tight angle.

On the hour mark young Considine made it five after heading in a cross.

With one eye on the game tomorrow, Ritchie Byrne and Zander Diamond were both given a run out in the second half. Byrne replacing Chris Clark - who has played in every game in Holland so far and Zander replaced Scott Calderwood with 10 minutes remaining.

The Dons could and should have added to their goal tally. Stewart missed a couple of chances and the Den Ham goalkeeper made three fine saves.

Considine was also very unlucky not to get his hat-trick as he had what seemed a perfectly good goal disallowed at the end.
