Reserves on easy street

Teenage strikers Chris Maguire and Willie John Kiely staked their claims for a first team berth as the Dons second string brushed Athletic aside with ease in a one sided SPL reserve league clash at Links Park.

Aberdeen took the lead in just seven minutes when a Richard Foster cross was turned home by MAGUIRE and the pair combined again nine minutes later with Foster again the provider for the head of the Bellshill born youngster.

Gary Dempsey was impressive in the middle of the park and it was his shot in the 20th minute that provided KIELY with the simple task of touching home from close range.

Any hopes of a Pars comeback were dashed a minute after the restart with the service of Foster again to the fore his pinpoint delivery converted by KIELY.

At the back Aberdeen were rarely troubled and the one time the visitors did threaten saw Greg Kelly pull off an excellent double save.
