Reserves dump hapless hibees

The Dons second string remain clear at the top of the SPL reserve league following a convincing victory over Hibs at Easter Road. The Reds went in front after 17 minutes when a long throw in from Scott Muirhead was headed on by Andrew Considine to Kyle MACAULAY who headed home. Ten minutes before the break, Aberdeen doubled their advantage when a Muirhead run down the left ended with an accurate cross that was side footed home by top scorer John STEWART.

In the 68th minute, Considine almost added a third when his back post header came back off the post. The Dons were not to be denied however and eight minutes later substitute Chris MAGUIRE chipped keeper Simon Brown after collecting a pass from Gary Dempsey. With five minutes remaining, MAGUIRE notched his second tapping in after a good run from Stewart down the right. Despite only being on for the last twenty minutes, goal hero Maguire still found time to pick up the game's only yellow card for a mistimed challenge.
