Young Dons fight back takes the points

Aberdeen youth team restarted their league campaign this afternoon with a win over Falkirk at Stirling University. The playing surface was in very poor condition but the young Dons did well to knock the ball about in the early stages. It was the home side who took the lead however when Kelly misjudged a long-range effort in the 34th minute. The keeper managed to touch the ball on to the bar but when McVitie tried to pass the loose ball back to the keeper confusion reigned and Churchill nipped in to score.

The Dons equalised in the opening minute of the second half when substitute Martyn Donald did well and cut the ball back to Maguire. The youngster then fired a low shot past the Falkirk keeper from ten yards. The deserved winner came in the 70th minute after David Donald beat two players on the right and fed the ball to his namesake. Once again he found a Dons player with a telling pass. This time it was Bagshaw who benefited as he fired a right foot shot into the top corner to seal the victory.
