Aberdeen took the lead against the run of play in twenty minutes when Maguire was knocked off the ball inside the box. After some confusion the referee gave a penalty and MAGUIRE took the spot kick himself, making no mistake. However, four minutes later, the Bairns were level when a cross from the right was turned past Derek Soutar by Liam CRAIG.
The young Dons pressed forward and Willie John Kiely saw an excellent effort come back off the crossbar before Maguire and Kyle Macaulay worked a one-two before the former brought out a good save from Jerone Lambers.
On the hour mark Aberdeen were awarded a second spot kick when Kiely was upended after chasing a long through ball from midfield. MAGUIRE again did the needful with a low drive.
However the Dons could not hold out for the win and with just over ten minutes remaining Falkirk equalised for a second time when a Tam McManus cross was headed home by TIAGO. Jimmy Calderwood who was taking the team tonight was clearly disappointed at the end not to win the game, and especially disappointed with the defending for Falkirk's late equaliser. There were some positives for the manager though with Zander coming through the full 90 minutes and looking back to his best and Chris Maguire grabbing his first goals of the season.
