Dons share spoils with well
The under 19's drew 2-2 this afternoon against Motherwell, after an exciting match in poor conditions. Aberdeen took the lead when John Stewart chipped the keeper from the edge of the box, after good work from Thomson and McAllister. Aberdeen had plenty of opportunities to extend their lead but Motherwell came back with a good strike to make it 1-1 at half-time.
Aberdeen continued to have good periods of pressure after the break and Rory McAllister grabbed the second after a long throw in from Higgins. Motherwell fought back and scored the equaliser from the spot to take a share of the points.
Neil Cooper spoke to RedWeb after the game: "The boys played really well, especially as it was a young team and some of the squad have been suffering from flu this week. They all worked really hard but it was a fair result as Motherwell had a strong penalty claim turned down before they eventually scored the equaliser."
