Unfortunately the home side then took their foot of the gas and a couple of blunders allowed the Jags back into the game. Thistle grabbed their first when Hutton dropped a cross allowing the visitors a simple tap in and when Higgins was short with a pass back the damage was complete. The Dons had plenty of opportunities throughout the match to grab more, but were unable to finish.
Neil Cooper was disappointed with the outcome. "After making such a great start to the second half of the campaign this was disappointing. We dominated the first half then became complacent and this allowed them back into the match. The players will have to learn from this as we have an important quarter-final tie away to Celtic in midweek."
