A very young Dons second string lined up in a 4-3-3 formation. The team played well, knocked the ball about and kept hold of it for long periods. De Visscher missed a penally on 53 minutes after a hand ball in the box but just as it was looking like the game would finish goalless, Aberdeen finally got the reward for their good play. Duff put in a good ball from the right. Young hit a first time shot which the keeper saved but Derek was on hand to score the rebound.
