Sunnybank v Aberdeen U19 @ Heathryfold, 7.30pm KO, Thursday 23rd July
Sunnybank 2 Aberdeen 3 FT
Megginson 25, Clark 29, Bolger 73
Aberdeen U19s this evening continued their good pre-season form with victory over local side Sunnybank. Aberdeen played very well in the first half and took the lead on 25 minutes. Dean Jarvis had a strong run down the left. He cut the ball back and Mitch Megginson cracked the ball low and hard into the net. It was an excellent finish from Mitch. Four minutes later and the Dons were two up. Goalscorer Megginson this time turned provider as he played the ball in from the right and Nicky Clark grabbed his second goal in two games from midfield. Sunnybank pulled one back on 56 minutes through Thomas. Aberdeen then went 3-1 up when substitute Bolger volleyed a Gibson cut back with his left foot into the net first time. Another superb finish. The home side then pulled another one back in the 80th minute when Craigie beat Bateman but the young Dons held on for the win. The second half performance got a bit fragmented with all the changes but overall another encouraging performance from Neil Cooper's youngsters.RedImages raysmithphotography.com
