1st Half Hat Trick Sinks Young Dons

Sat 23 Jan Rangers U19s 3 Aberdeen U19s 1

Aberdeen were in good spirits as they travelled down to Murray Park after their successful winter break in Spain thanks to the Leonardo da Vinci programme. In the end though they were well beaten by a strong Rangers side.

Kane Hemmings opened the scoring after only 50 seconds. He then doubled his side's advantage by rolling the ball home from close range with his right boot with 40 minutes played. With the referee preparing to blow his whistle for the interval Kane completed his 'perfect' treble with a looping header from a Kal Naismith cross. Both teams looked sharp as Rangers had also enjoyed a winter training camp in Belek, Turkey as part of the Leonardo da Vinci programme.

After the break the Dons improved and got a deserved consolation goal when McRobbie set up Megginson after 56 minutes.
