These tams met in a Northern League fixture at St Margaret's Park, Lochee. Teams - Lochee United: Murray; Harvey, A Morris; Smith, Milne, McInally; Blair, Downey, McInroy, Westwater, J. Morris. Aberdeen: Barrett; J. Mackie, McNicol; Sangster, Strang, Low; Owen, Barron, C. Mackie, McAulay, Johnston. Referee - Mr. Phillip, Dunfermline.
The visitors started operations towards the north goal, and at once assumed the aggressive. A few minutes after the start Johnston secured the first point for the Aberdeen club. The homesters gradually beat back the attack, and Barrett was tested, but the ex-Dundee keeper cleared effectively. The Blues secured a corner, which, however, proved fruitless. The ball hovered in front of the Aberdeen goal for a time, but ultimately McInroy sent the leather behind. The game continued to be evenly contested, with Aberdeen having a slight advantage. Harvey charged Barron within the penalty line, but the referee only granted a foul kick, which was fruitless. The United paid a visit to their opponents' goal, but Westwater's parting shot was weak. A minute later Milne caused the goalkeeper to handle, but Barrett was equal to the occasion. The interval found the visitors in front of Murray.
The second half was commenced without leaving the field, and the visitors at once took up the attack. The ball remained in front of Murray's charge for a time until McAulay got his foot on the leather, and drove home a second goal for the Whites. Aberdeen continued to have the best of the game and Sangster soon registered a third point. Lochee once more visited Barrett's end, but as on the previous occasions, without result. The Whites retaliated strongly, and Owen had a chance to increase his team's score, but the ex-Hibs man drove past. McInroy got off, but after a run up field was deprived of the ball. Towards the close the United looked as if they were to secure a goal, but the finish found the Aberdeen lads victorious.
