Aberdeen provided Lochgelly with a splendid game on Saturday. From beginning to end there was no dulness, and play was of a very pleasant nature.
Lochgelly played against the wind in the first half, which ended in all equal. The closing stage found the home lads superior at all points, and seldom did the strangers cross midfield, and when they did they were usually intercepted by McDonald and Suttie.
The feature of the visiting side was the splendid kicking and tackling of McNicol. Strang and Low were good halves, while in the front line McKay and Shinner showed up finely. Lochgelly's junior recruit, McDonald, gives promise of turning out a good back, and should be persevered with. All the home half-backs were good, and Burton, Green, and Lyons the best of the forwards.

Lochgelly United finished their Northern League programme very pleasantly in a match with Aberdeen at home on Saturday. Three changes were made in the team. Green took the place of Gildea, who had not recovered from his Cowdenbeatb accident; Devine was substituted for Douglas, and McDonald, a Glencraig junior, filled Bobby McNeil's position at back.
The game had a very sensational beginning. In less than a minute the home centre got away, and after McGregor making a bad miss, be could scarcely fail in scoring. Lochgelly continued aggressive, and Green had a try. At last Aberdeen cleared their lines, and, pressing towards Laing, McKay and Skinner sent in good shots, which failed to teach the mark. Maintaining the offensive, however, McKay, after a splendid effort, scored. In the second half, Lochgelly completely monopolised play, and added a couple of goals.
The home team was worthy of the points. Laing was in his usual reliable mood. The junior back, McDonaid, came out of the game with honours, and was at times superior to his more experienced partner. The halves were hard workers, with Paterson the most outstanding, while Burton, Green, and Lyons were the pick of the forward division. The last mentioned was in exceptionally good form, all of the three goals being scared by him.
Aberdeen gave a very fine football exhibition. Amongst the forwards, McKay and Skinner must be given first places. Strang was the strongeet in the mid line. McNicol is a sturdy back, who checked many a run. Barrett's goalkeeping was cleverly done, as otherwise the scoring would have been higher against him.
