ABERDEEN DRAW. Yorston Gets Equaliser, But Misses Penalty.

Aberdeen concluded their tour at Northampton this evening when additional interest was given to the match with the Cobblers by the inclusion in the home ranks of the mystery inside left. Both teams fielded strong sides.

A bright sun proved troublesome to the Aberdeen attack in the first half when play was even. Northampton showed bustle but finishing weakly and Bowen at centre forward missed several chances.
Aberdeen should have gone ahead after ten minutes when Brett fouled inside the penalty area, but the centre drove wide from the resultant kick.

Capital Save.

Blackwell made a capital save from the mystery inside left soon afterwards, and when the visitors retaliated with Cheyne and Love combining excellently, Yorston sent the ball just over the crossbar with a header.
Brett and Dawes, the Northampton backs, had their work cut out to hold Yorston, from whom Hammond, in the Northampton goal, made several splendid saves. Aberdeen in turn had a remarkable escape before the interval when Blackwell fell in dashing out to stop Weston, but Legge cleared in the nick of time.

Terrific Drive.

Changing over Northampton were more aggressive, and from a smart pass by the mystery forward Bowden opened their account with a terrific drive.
Aberdeen had not long wait for equaliser. Yorston running clean through from an opening made by McLaren who, like Maloney, Northampton's pivot, played a splendid game.
The result was a fair reflex of the play Yorston, and Smith were Aberdeen s best forwards.
