Clever Header
Percy Dickie (Blackburn Rovers), a former Aberdeen player, home on leave, led the attack, and his clever distribution had much to do with the victory. Smith (Aberdeen Juniors) was a success at left half. He tackled well and kept in close touch with his forwards. Other home players who played well were Johnstone, Cooper, Lyon and Bain. Raith never gave in, but they were definitely outclassed. Masson and Rougvie, the backs, and forwards lacked constructive ideas.
The Goals
McLeod gave the Dons the lead in five minutes after Keoch, the Raith keeper, had parried a shot from McCall. The second goal came from Dickie ten minutes from the interval. He beat three men before netting. The home team became three up in the opening minutes of the second half, when Keoch misjudged a free kick from Dunlop, and McCall headed a fourth from another Dunlop free kick. Whalley reduced the leeway, but Donaldson and McLeod (2) completed Aberdeen's goals.
