Aberdeen Must Improve to Beat Falkirk's Fighters

IF Aberdeen are qualify for the final of the Mitchell Cup competition, there will have to be a vast improvement on their form at Brockviile, where Falkirk got through deservedly by 2-1 in the first of the home-and-home games in the semi-final.
Aberdeen were definitely a poor team. There was not an outstanding man in the eleven.

The Dons were fortunate to get off so lightly. It was not that Falkirk were a good football team, but they were a combination brimful of enthusiasm, a quality which certain Aberdeen players seemed lack. What more, the Brockville men went for the ball all the time. Aberdeen waited for it.
The Aberdeen forwards were a set of individualists - poor ones at that - but Williams must be given credit for the way he took his goal.
The half-backs suffered through the failure of the attack. Taylor was the best the three.
McKenna played well throughout, but Dyer was none too steady at times. Johnstone was unfortunate so far as Falkirk's second goal was concerned. Thomson's shot was deflected from him.
Falkirk are a team of fighters. They will make the Dons go all the way at Pittodrie.
