Wallace's Hat-trick At Pittodrie

CLYDE were good winners by five goals to two against Aberdeen at Pittodrie this afternoon before a crowd of 6000 spectators.
Wallace, the Clyde centre, had the hat-trick.
Aberdeen fielded a new player at inside right, McKenzie was at centre-half, and D. W. C. Smith at outside right.

The Clyde were a goal up in three minutes, Gillies forced a corner on the left, WALLAC connected with the flag-kick, and glided the ball past Black.
Another corner fell to CLyde, but Cruickshank player cleared.
The Dons forced a corner, through Smith. Pattillo got possession and shot but the ball hit an Aberdeen player and was eventually cleared.

Nice Slip

Next, Brown cleared with Smith on top of him. Later,the amateur slipped nicely to Waldron but the centre was not prepared for the pass.
The Dons had hard luck in opening tlheir account in twelve minutes when a shot by Pattillo just missed the goal.
Clyde were two goals up in fourteen minutes. WALLACE shot home a pass by Gillies. Black got his hands to the ball, but could not stop it.
Wallace was shooting at every opportunity, and he almost got a third goal with a shot which went narrowly past.

Narrow Escape

The Clyde goal had a narrow escape during a hot attack. Three shots were blocked in succession.
The Dons reduced the leeway in twenty minutes when WALDRON slipped the ball past Brown from a corner by Munro.
A minute later, however, slackness on the part of the Aberdeen defence led to a third goal for Clyde. GORDON heading past Black.
When Brown fumbled a shot. Smith raced in, and a goal seemed certain, but the winger's shot struck a defender and rebounded clear of the goal.
Gillies was through at the other end, but he sent straight to Black. The inside-left later tested Black, but the goalkeeper tipped the ball over for a corner which Dunlop cleared.

Few Scoring Chances

The Dons, although two goals in arrears, were having as much of the play as Clyde, but they were getting few scoring opprtunities.
The Clyde forwards had the Aberdeen defence open on one occasion, and Johnston just failed to score.
Munro had hard luck in not getting a second goal for the Dons, a powerful shot by the outside man rebounding to safety from the crossbar with Brown well beaten.

Half-time: 1-3

A minute after the resumption Gillies slipped last Cooper and sent ahead to WALLACE, whose terrific drive left Black helpless.
The Dons did not lie down, however, and forced four corners in succession, but they brought no reward, while a try by Pattillo was just wide.

Terrific Throw

Smith on one ocoasion almost sent the ball into the Clyde net with a terrific throw from the touch.
Black saved at the post from Wallace, while Green got in the way of what seemed a certain counter by Gordon.
Clyde were taking matters easy now and were playing clever football. A great shot by Johnston was tipped over the bar by Black for a fruitless corner.
The Dons were being well held, and only perodically were they dangerous. Smith broke clear and tested Brown with a low drive.

No Chance

In twenty-six minutes GILLIES made Clyde's total five with a shot which gave Black no chance.
A shot by Munro flashed past the post.
In thirty-three minutes PATTILLO got a second goal for the Dons, Brown allowing the ball to slide under fr!s bcdy into the net.
A minute later Brown was in action to a fast grounder by Dunlop.
