These teams met at Pittodrie Park, Aberdeen, on Saturday afternoon in the semi-final of the county Cup, before over 1500 spectators. Teams:-

Peterhead: Pyper; Thomson, Murphy; Milne, Davidson, McDougal; Imlay, Scott, McIntosh, Cadger, Vass.
Referee - Mr. J Prophet, Forfar.
Peterhead faced the wind and sun in the first period, but play following on the start ruled even for a time. Baker and Hay made ground rapidly on the home right, and dangerous shots from them were cleared. The pressure was relieved by Edgar of shooting high over, with an open goal. Ably led by McIntosh and Scott, Peterhead attacked vigorously, but the defence of Hannah and Macfarlane withstood the siege. Play was very fast for a time, and a stoppage was called until McIntosh recovered from an injury. Aberdeen seemed slow to settle down, and Peterhead had the best of matters for a time. Scott by misheading, missed a great chance for his side. Although Aberdeen had a breakaway, play was soon transferred to the other end, and Hannah intercepted Imlay when that player was favourably placed. Dalgarno then got off, and forced a corner, which was neatly placed by Hay and converted by the centre forward. This goals seemed to bring confidence to Aberdeen, who are now for the most part on the aggressive. Pyper held several great shots by Dalgarno. Erratic shooting by Vass missed two favourable chances for the Buchanites. Aberdeen's seemed well set for another goal, when Edgar, getting off-side, nullified the movement. Sometime later, from a cross from the right, Ritchie added a second goal, while a minute or two later Baker put on a third.
Aberdeen resumed in business-like fashion, and from a wing-to-wing cross attack Dalgarno scored a fourth goal. Aberdeen now held easily the upper hand, Ritchie scoring number five from long range. The sterling play of Thomson at back saved his citadel from further downfall on many occasions. Vass made a desperate effort to score, without success. Aberdeen kept up the pressure, and Hay scored, but the point was disallowed. Edgar scored a sixth goal later, and the game continued one sided till the end.
