The Aberdeen A team had a big win at Montrose on Saturday, where they defeated the local club by 8 goals to 0 in a Northern League game. The feature of the match was the play of Nichol at centre forward, who scored no fewer than six goals in the first half of the game the A team crossing over with a lead of 7 goals to 0. The Reserves faced the wind in the opening period, and early on Nichol headed the first goal, but, in doing so, collided with Inglis, the Montrose left half. The latter had to leave the field, while Nichol remained, although he received a nasty knock on the forehead. Hendry scored the second goal for Aberdeen after Hay had sent the ball across from the right.
Nichol was in great form, and quickly added three goals with unsavable shots, while close on half-time he put on other two. The second half was more evenly contested, Stuart Davidson scoring the last goal with a lovely drive, following upon good play by Robertson.
