There was plethora of goals at Pittodrie, where the Aberdeen Reserves met Montrose in an Eastern League match. The crowd was one of the largest seen at a secondary match at Pittodrie this season, and one and all got full value for their money. No fewer than nine goals were scored, and Aberdeen claimed eight, the final score being ? Aberdeen 8, Montrose 1. Aberdeen tried experiments with their team, Lees, the sturdy centre-half, operating at centre-forward and Fisher at outside right. The combination was a great success, and a feature of the match was the crop goals that fell to Lees. He had no fewer than five. Robertson opened the scoring with a long drive, and the centre forward followed with two in quick succession. Mackie got a fourth before the interval. In second half Lees followed with three in quick succession, his last two being got after Jackson had secured the visitors' only goal. Yule added an eighth shortly before the finish. It was a one-sided game. The Aberdeen halves, with Milne in the middle, dominated play. Aberdeen had on their shooting boots. The forwards and halves let drive for goal whenever possible, and, as already stated, Lees was the most successful.
