The appearance of three trialists in the Dons ranks was an attraction. Collins, the Wishaw junior, led the attack, and certainly showed that he was eager and also to be a likely opportunist. His goal from a corner-kick by Connon was a neatly taken effort. Hannah, the Blantyre Celtic recruit who figured at outside right, is a speedy lad, who sent over several fine crosses, and he gave indications of being a trier. W. Wiseman, the Aberdeen University right back, is a defender built on sturdy lines. He was rather shaky in the opening stages, but later kicked a good length ball, and brought off some exceptionally good clearances against what was the most dangerous wing on the field. The outstanding players in the game were Lawrie and Abrines. The Pittodrie custodian put in a good afternoon's work, and had little opportunity of saving the points recorded against him. Abrines, the Rovers' inside left, in addition to obtaining the winning goal, tackled and distributed judiciously, and was well supported. Robertson and Ford shared the honours in the middle division. Connon and Collins were the Dons' most prominent forwards, but they were hardly up to the standard of Ribchester and Wilson, of the opposition. The latter's opening goal was smartlytaken.
