FOR speed and initiative Peter Rice, the Aberdeen "A" right winger, took the honours in the "C" Division game with Stirling Albion reserves at Annfield. Unfortunately for the Young Dons he was not of the same high standard with his shooting, and a goal-less draw resulted.
Aberdeen had easily the better of the exchanges, but the home half backs, particularly Reid, stood up well to their assaults.
"Newman" in the home goal, believed to be Little of Holytown United, had busy time and brought off a number of fine clearances.
Curran, in the Dons' goal, was by no means idle and he did well to stop a barrage of shots from all five Stirling forwards.
McKeown and Pacione were good in defence in the opening half, but fell away, with the result that Curran was called upon more frequently. Stenhouse was strong at half back and in the front line, apart from Rice, McIntyre had some clever moves. Roy was a trier, but not a success at centre.
