The Third Reverse.
Aberdeen "A" suffered a somewhat surprising defeat at the hands of Falkirk "A" on Saturday, the Brockville team winning by six goals to two. This is Aberdeen's third defeat in the Alliance League competition, but they remain at the top of the table. Falkirk started in whirlwind fashion, Howieson accepting a pass from Houston to run in and open the scoring. Aberdeen retaliated, and Lindsay did well to save a shot by Donald. The home team resumed the offensive, and Howieson and Gordon added goals quick succession. Aberdeen once more broke away on the right, but the Falkirk defence was sound. Falkirk had much the better of the exchanges, and Low slipping the Pittodrie defence increased the total to four. The play of the visitors improved, but they failed to open their account before the interval. Aberdeen revealed their best form on the resumption, and shots by Donald, McKenzie, and Falloon might all have met with more success. The league leaders played a line open game, and were rewarded when Falloon opened their account with a long drive. In a Falkirk breakaway Low scored a fifth goal. The Aberdeen team was superior during this period, but weak shooting nullified good play in the outfield, After Lindsay had saved from Donald, Wilson had to go off. Despite this loss Aberdeen scored again through Falloon, but Howieson counted a sixth time for Falkirk, completing his "hat trick."Source: Press & Journal, 17th December 1928
